Vientiane GDP reaches nine trillion kip

(KPL) Gross domestic production of Vientiane during the last 9 months of 2007-08 fiscal year was 9 trillion kip, equivalent to 76 per cent of the annual plan.
The capital estimates that by the end of this year it would raise the GDP values to 11 trillion kip, increased by 11.8 per cent over the fiscal year before.
So far this fiscal year the government has invested in 235 projects totally worth 41.9 billions kip increased by 87.3 per cent of its yearly plan.
The private and foreign businesses have invested in and implemented 208 projects totally worth US$ 304 million. These include 50 projects, totally worth US$ 3 million, implemented with grants from foreign countries and financial institutes.
The capital expects that in the last three months of this fiscal year it would increase revenues for state coffer to 13 trillion kip, or its per capita income to 16 million kip.
Vientiane plans to have investment share 30 per cent of its GDP values and its revenues reach 425 billion kip, increased by 24 per cent compared to 2006-2007 period by the end of this fiscal year.
Vientiane has planted rice on over 74,000 ha to yield 321,600 T or 4.3 T per hectare on average.
