Badminton tournament to take place soon

(KPL) President of the National Badminton Federation Mr Santiphab Phomvihane on Monday said a badminton tournament would open soon to celebrate the 17th anniversary of the National Constitution Day, 15 August.
The event will run from 15 to 17 August at the indoor stadium of the Ministry of Public Security.
Mr Santiphab said, “The event is aimed at selecting badminton players for the 25th Southeast Asian Games, which will be held in Vientiane next year”.
“Besides, this competition also provides opportunities to provincial players to show off and strengthen their competitive skills before joining the 8th National Games in Champassak province at the end of this year,” he added.
The competition will comprise 10 categories including men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s singles and doubles, mixed doubles, senior men’s doubles (aged over 45 and 50).
The Lao Brewery Company has donated 220 million kip for organising the competition.
