Luang Namtha and Khammouane meet on ethnic people’s poverty reduction

(KPL) Khammouane Governor, Mr Khambay Damlath, early this week met the visiting Vice-Governor of Luang Namtha, Mr Aloun Lorkhamlouai, on the socio-economic development in their respective provinces.
Poverty reduction, national defence and public security were among the key topics on which both sides shared common interest.
Mr Khambay highlighted the significant socio-economic development projects, especially those in the spheres of infrastructure, agriculture-forestry and mining in his province.
Khammouane has over 4,500 poor families in two mountainous districts of Boualapha and Nakai.
At present, the governor of Khammouane province focuses on the poverty reduction of her people.
Luang Namtha province is mountainous with a total area of 9,325 sqm and has around 15,300 poor families.
Vice Governor of LuangNamtha province said that the province was focusing on developing the areas of agriculture-forest, mining and transport to reduce the poverty of ethnic people.
