Thai army helps fight against flood
(KPL) The government has received donation package from the Thai army in contribution to fight against flooding, mostly caused by the rising water of the Mekong River. Presented last Friday the donation package includes over 100,000 bags for making sandbag walls along the Mekong bank and food as well as relief items. Held at the First Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge, Vientiane, the hand-over was performed by the Head of International Relations Department, Ministry of National Defence, Brigadier General, Syphai Muenduang, and representative of the armed forces of the Kingdom of Thailand, Major General Sanesay Phouthong. Brigadier General Syphai Muenduang, thanked the Thai army and Thai people for their humanitarian assistance to the Lao government and people.
