Laos, Vietnam cooperate on operations of National Assembly library
(KPL) The Information Centre, Library and Science Research of Laos-Vietnam National Assemblies held a meeting to discuss cooperation on the operations of the information and library of the National Assembly of Laos. Mr Viset Savengsuksa, Deputy Head Office of the National Assembly, Dr Phung Van Hung, Head of the Information Centre of Vietnam and technical officials from the two sides held a meeting in Vientiane on 18 August. In the past, the Informational Centre, Library and Science Research of Laos-Vietnam had exchanged their experiences on giving information to National Assembly members when they attend the National Assembly meetings. The two sides also reviewed their activities on library and science research over the past over 15 years, especially on the collection of data and the provision of information. Over a period of 15 years, the National Assembly office of Vietnam had had given money, worth 1.2 billion kip and technical assistance. In 2003-2006, the National Assembly office of Vietnam gave three hundred million kip for each year and the contribution went on for three years. The Informational Centre and Library was established by the National Assembly of Laos on 25 August 2000.
