NA receives relief aid package for flood victims

(KPL) National Assembly received the relief aid packages from different sectors to help flood victims on 21 August in Vientiane Capital.
The aids are rice, foodstuff, drinking water and other necessary materials. The relief has been handed over by different sectors in Laos through National Assembly.

The relief aid was donated by Philavong’s family, Ban Vat Sop village, Sisattanak district, Vientiane Capital, including 150 packs of goods consumption and a number of skin care cream with total worth of 15 million kip.
Phaxay’s family, a resident at Hadxaikhao village, Sisattanak district donated rice and dried foods with total worth of 2 million kip.The National Assembly will distribute the relief aids to relieve the victims, said the NA vice president.
She said thousands families are suffering from severe flood throughout the country are still waiting for assistance, especially in Borikhamsay province.
In addition, US government also donated US$50,000 in cash to help flood victims through the Lao Red Cross last week.
The fund was given by Temporary US Ambassador to Laos, Mary Grace Mc Geehan to Dr Snivurath Sramani, President of Lao Red Cross.Dr Snivurath said that the fund would be spent on the goods consumption and necessary materials to relieve flood victims as fast as possible.
