SDPM provides relief aid package to Sangthong flood victims

(KPL) Standing Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Somsavat Lengsavad, and his delegation of centre and local of Sangthong district, Vientiane Capital, on 24 August, paid a working visit to provide relief aid packageto three flood villages of Samphanna, Paktone and Hinlap.
Mr Somsavat Lengsavad who is also the President of Committee National for Drought and Flood Prevention, has handed over food to three villages including, 300 boxes of instant noodle, 250 canned fish boxes, four tons of rice 52 packs of drinking waters.
18 villages of Sangthong district were flooded where more than 2,000 locals live in these villages.
Over 2,000 ha of agriculture production in which 820 ha were badly damaged by flooding. Two schools and 33 roads were inundated.
Head of Vientiane Public Health Service, Dr Inlavanh Keobounphan also provided 200 impregnated mosquito nets to flood victims.
On 25 August, the PAN Programme in Laos also donated foods and medicine worth 33 million kip (about US$3,800), to Khokpheung, and Sanghin villages in Sangthong district.
